The house seen after outbreak of fire.
A FIRE broke out on Saturday at a house owned by U Sai Tu in Ward-3 in Kali, a town in Loilem District in southern Shan State, destroying a house, a water taker, a warehouse and diesel fuel containers.
The township fire services department said no deaths or injuries have been reported after the blaze. According to the investigation, the flame was caused by a fuel spill when a worker named Sai Maung Hla (aka U Lawka) was transferring some fuels from one container to another. The flame quickly spread to nearest warehouse and 800-gallon water tanker and some fuel containers.
The blaze was put under control by firefighters with the assistance of 170 neighbours, departmental staff and members of regional armed forces within 1.15 hours.
Action is being taken against the responsible person who will be charged by the township police
under Section 285 of the Criminal Law.
