Massive fire at NEA sub-station in Syuchatar

KATHMANDU: A massive fire broke out at the Nepal Electricity Authority’s sub-station in Syuchatar, on the western outskirts of Kathmandu, on Monday.
Equipment worth more than Rs 10 million were gutted in the fire, according to the Rastriya Samachar Samiti.
An officials from the Metropolitan Police Circle, Kalimati, told THT Online that fire brigades assisted by police already contained the fire.
Power supply to most places of Kathmandu Valley was obstructed following the inferno.
A black smoke billowing over the western outskirts of the Kathmandu Valley was seen from the downtown Kathmandu also.
Cause behind the fire is yet to be established.by vandals caused disruption to the transport network.
The SNCF national rail service resumed service late Tuesday night after the evening fire that it said was caused by an unexplained “malicious incident.”
Some Eurostar trains were canceled Tuesday and the company that operates across the English Channel said further trains Wednesday might be delayed or canceled because of the knock-on impact.
The Tuesday incident came amid nationwide jitters following a truck attack in Nice last week that killed 84 people and was claimed by the Islamic State group, the third major attack in France in 18 months.
Trains to Brussels, Amsterdam and other international destinations also leave from the Gare du Nord.
