Fire guts property worth Rs 1 mln in Bhaktapur

BHAKTAPUR: Property worth around Rs 1 million was reduced to ashes when a fire broke out at a two-storey house in Mahalaxmisthan of Bhaktapur Municipality-4 on Tuesday.
The first floor of the house owned by Suryaman Nakarmi was completely destroyed in the fire.
DSP Shekhar Khanal of the Metropolitan Police Range, Bhaktapur, various goods including furniture, utensils and clothes among others were destroyed in the flame.
The reason behind the fire was cooking gas leakage, police said.
The fire was taken under control with the help of police personnel and locals backed by a fire engine.
