Updated: 2016-08-01
A HOME fire broke out in Haka, a town in Chin State, on Saturday early morning, destroying a 26×22 foot wooden house, leaving no people injured, police reported yesterday.
The blaze was caused by an overheated wire connected with a television set placed at the home of U Van Thio in Myothit Ward.
The flame was put out by around 20 firefighters, who controlled the blaze within 35 minutes.
Ten people from the house managed to escape the blaze. They are now being accommodated at their relatives’ houses.
The house owner will face charges under Section 285 of the Penal Code.
