Plastic scrap godown gutted in fire

A warehouse storing plastic scrap caught fire on the outskirts of Godhra town during early hours on Friday. An electrical short circuit is believed to be the reason behind the fire.
The incident took place at around 3am at A K Traders, a godown located near the Vejalpur crossroads in Godhra.
The godown was packed with plastic waste that the company sells for recycling.
The Godhra fire brigade was informed regarding the incident that rushed to the spot.
Seeing the gravity of the situation, fire engines were also summoned from Halol, Kalol and Lunawada. In all five fire tenders battled the flames throughout the night to contain the flames.
The fire was completely brought under control at around 10am on Friday.
The extent of damage due to the incident is yet to be ascertained.
