Fire breaks out at Little India shophouse

SINGAPORE: A fire broke out at on the second floor of a shophouse in Little India on Monday (Nov 14).
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the incident at 7 Roberts Lane at 3.20pm. When they arrived, three people had self-evacuated from the unit. There were no reported injuries.
A neighbouring unit was also “slightly affected”, according to SCDF. Smouldering embers were spotted in the void space within the roof and it was quickly doused.

Using two water jets, SCDF extinguished the fire in about 30 minutes. A fire engine, three red rhinos and three support vehicles were dispatched to the scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, SCDF added.
