Fire in JB housing area damages three houses, two cars and two m-cycles

JOHOR BARU: Three houses, two cars and two motorcycles were damaged in a fire in Jalan Kebudayaan 34, Taman University, here, at around 9.15am Monday.
Pulai fire and rescue station operations chief Azrai Yahya said 14 firemen were deployed to the scene after receiving a distress call and they took about an hour to put out the fire.
“Nobody was at home when the fire broke out but an eyewitness told us the fire is believed to have started at the porch at one of the houses,” he said in a press statement here.
Azrai said two of the houses were badly damaged, adding that the fire quickly spread to the cars and motorcycles parked within the premises.
