Immigrant almost suffocates during house fire

KULAI: An immigrant was injured in a fire at his rented house in Taman Sempena in Senai here.
Firemen found him in the bathroom weak from smoke inhalation in the midnight fire on Tuesday.
Kulai Putra Fire and Rescue Department operations commander Mohd Nasib Mohd Sam said they received a distress call at 12.42am and a fire engine with six firemen rushed to the scene.
He said the immigrant was immediately pulled out from the double-storey terrace house.
“The victim was foaming at the mouth and we helped to stabilise his breathing,” he said.
Mohd Nasib said the fire was brought under control at 2.14am.
“The victim was sent to Kulai Hospital for treatment and then transferred to Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Baru,” he added.
