Fire damages part of Buntong health clinic

IPOH: A fire broke out in the X-ray room at the dental unit of the Buntong Health Clinic here Monday.
Perak health director Datuk Dr Juita Ghazalie said the fire broke out in the room, located on the second floor of the building, at about 8.30am.
Firemen arrived shortly after to put out the fire, she said in a statement.
Dr Juita said patients have been urged to seek treatment at the health clinics in Menglembu, Jelapang or Manjoi for the time being.
Most of the medical officers and staff from the Buntong clinic have been deployed to the other health clinics, she added.
“We’ve also instructed one medical officer and an assistant to be on standby at the Buntong clinic to handle emergency cases,” she said, adding that the emergency unit was not affected by the fire.
The cause for the fire is still being investigated.
