Woman held for setting vehicle on fire in Bardiya

RAUTAHAT: A massive fire broke out at a distillery in Rautahat in mysterious circumstances and damaged equipment, raw material and liquor worth millions of rupees on Tuesday morning.
The government authorities had sealed the Everest Distillery Udyog Pvt Ltd at Gangapipara of the district yesterday. But it witnessed an inferno within 24 hours.
Police said the fire started from a room at around 2:45 am and spread to the factory’s store and production unit.
Total loss so far is estimated to be Rs 8.1 million, according to DSP Navin Krishna Bhandari at the Rautahat District Police Office.
The fire was contained after three hours only with the help of fire engine sent from Gaur, security personnel and locals, the Area Police Office at Gangapipara said.
What caused fire is still unknown. But locals said that the fire was mysterious, suspecting that could be an intentional incident.
