Fire Leaves Family Of Six In Lurch Ahead Of Aidilfitri Celebration

SANDAKAN, June 18 (Bernama) — A family of six has been left in the lurch after their home in Kampung Padas Rancangan Sungai Manila near here was razed to the ground today, a week before the Aidilfitri celebration.
House owner Mohd Khalid Abu Hassan, 35, and his five family members were left with only the clothes on their backs after the fire destroyed everything they owned, including a three-tonne lorry.
Sandakan Fire and Rescue Department Chief Superintendent Andre Andrew said they received a distress call at 12.29pm before dispatching nine firefighters to the scene…..
