Plastic factory in Juru catches fire

BUKIT MERTAJAM: Folks on mainland Penang near Juru were greeted by voluminous clouds of dark smoke when a plastic factory in Taman Pelangi caught fire.
Firemen who were alerted at 10.58am Saturday rushed to the scene and found three buildings on fire.
A Fire and Rescue Department water tanker, a hazardous materials (Hazmat) squad and more than 30 fireman are currently at the scene to battle the raging fire.
The thick black smoke can be seen from as far as George Town.
No casualties have been reported so far.
