Fire to repel mosquitoes kills man instead

A MAN suffocated to death after a fire he started in an abandoned house to get rid of mosquitoes trapped him inside, reported Makkal Osai.
K. Prakash, 27, started a small fire last Friday in abandoned premises near his home in Masai, Johor, to smoke out the mosquitoes.
However, the fire suddenly spread to the entire house and prevented the victim from getting out.
Fire and Rescue Department personnel rushed to the scene and managed to put out the fire.
They then retrieved the victim’s body from the house.

The 40-year-old man was celebrating his eight-year-old daughter’s birthday with his family when the accident happened.
Manoj Kumar brought out his licensed handgun and fired two shots.
The first bullet hit the roof of the house but the second ricocheted and struck him in the chest, killing him.
