Manila, QC fires reach third alarm

Meanwhile, another fire struck 50 houses along Lipton Street, Sauyo Road, Quezon City on Sunday night.
Fire Superintendent Jesus Fernandez of Quezon City Fire District said the blaze sparked from scrap materials which are also the source of livelihood of the residents in the area. The fire started 6:30 p.m. and was declared under control by 7:20 p.m.
Fernandez said it may have started while a resident in a certain Henry Alfonso’s house was cooking. Alfonso was reported missing but was later declared safe.
Reports said there were no casualties from the fire incident. However, around 100 families were affected and an estimated P250,000 worth of properties were damaged by the fire that was put out 8 p.m.
