Kuala Kangsar Firefighters Save Charcoal Factory

KUALA KANGSAR, Sept 1 (Bernama) –Quick action by firefighters prevented a RM1.8 million charcoal factory at Kuala Kangsar Industrial Zone here from being ravaged early today.
Kuala Kangsar Fire and Rescue Station chief Mohd Taufiq Abd Sattar said the blaze which originated from the charcoal dust collection centre destroyed six machines worth RM200,000.
He said the station despatched two fire trucks with 15 personnel to the scene after receiving a call at 8.25 am and took 20 minutes to control the blaze.
“There were no fatalities,” he told Bernama, adding that the cause of the fire was being investigated.
