8 houses, warehouse gutted in Ctg

Eight houses and a jute warehouse were gutted in a fire in Puratan Chandgaon area in the port city yesterday morning.
The fire originated from an electric short circuit of the jute warehouse and soon engulfed the adjoining houses, Fire Service sources said.
A fire fighting unit rushed to the spot and doused the blaze.
Valuables worth about Tk 5 lakh were gutted in the fire.
