Fire guts housing complex in Cempaka Baru, five injured

Five people were injured, while dozens of houses were destroyed in a fire that gutted a housing complex in Cempaka Baru, Central Jakarta, on Thursday.
The fire broke out at around 9:30 a.m. The Central Jakarta Fire Agency deployed 30 appliances and brought the blaze under control at 12 p.m.
Suban, a paramedic from the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), said that five men were injured when they helped the firefighters extinguish the fire. “The injured men are identified as Ali, Farid, Indra, Suprapto and Mardi,” he said as quoted by kompas.com.
The casualties were treated at a PMI car which was at the location.
Subhan said that one man was rushed to hospital having sustained serious injuries to his head and arms.
The fire agency is still investigating the cause of the fire. (lfr)
