Fire at City Centre’s underground parking lot

KATHMANDU: A fire has broken out at the underground parking lot of City Centre in Kamal Pokhari of Kathmandu at around 2 pm on Wednesday.
Police said six fire brigades and security personnel are trying to contain the fire.
The cause of fire and the details of loss caused by it are yet to be known, according to Sub-Inspector BB Sunuwar at Metropolitan Police Sector, Kamalpokhari.
“The fire broke at around 2 pm at the ground floor of the City Centre. Six fire brigades and as many as 250 security personnel from Nepal Police and Armed Police Force and Nepali Army are engaged in the fire-fighting,” he said.
“The fire was extinguished after the traders and customers were taken out of the Centre. Nor human casualties have taken place and vehicles parked at the parking lot are safe,” informed Inspector Kiran Jang Kunwar.
The underground parking lot is full of smoke gushed out of the burning oil, Inspector Kunwar added.
