Airport Terminal Temporarily Closed Due To Fire Scare

KOTA BAHARU, May 6 (Bernama) — A fire scare led to the temporary closure of the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport terminal, Pengkalan Chepa here Sunday.
The Malaysia Airport Berhad (MAB) cleared the terminal of passengers, traders and the public at 6.27pm after part of the terminal was filled with smoke coming out from an air-conditioning duct.
Firemen from the airport, the Pengkalan Chepa station and a fire squad found the smoke coming from an air-conditioning box on the first floor near a fast food restaurant which caught fire.
The terminal was reopened about 30 minutes later after the fire was put out by the firemen.
