SINGAPORE – A taxi caught fire along Bras Basah Road early Friday (Sept 29) morning.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force said it was alerted to the incident at 9 Bras Basah Road at about 12.30am.
It sent a pair of fire engines, and the fire was extinguished using a water jet.
No one was injured, and the cause of fire is under investigation.
Student Kulbir Singh, 25, was with some friends at a bar in nearby Prinsep Street, when he saw smoke rising in the distance.
“I didn’t think much of it until a good five minutes later, when the smoke was bellowing and there were people flocking in that direction. I decided to walk over as well,” he said.
In a video he took, a black-and-yellow taxi could be seen engulfed in flames.
Sirens could be heard wailing in the distance, before fire engines arrived and firefighters hurriedly alighted and put the fire out.
