Properties worth Rs 2 mln gutted in Thecho fire

KATHMANDU: Properties worth Rs two million(20,538$：1NPR=0.01027USD,03/22 rate) were reduced to ashes in a fire at a house in Thecho on the outskirts of Lalitpur on Tuesday night.
Gold ornaments weighing approximately five tola, three sets of television, two laptops, three refrigerators. three steel cupboards and paddy were destroyed while the house of Nhuchheram Maharjan caught fire in Thecho-8 in Lalitpur.
The incident occurred at around 11:30 pm yesterday, police said.
A police team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Circle Chapagaun, assisted by locals, had extinguished the fire.
