RAUTAHAT: Property worth around Rs. 150,000(1,586$:1NPR=0.01057USD,06/09 rate) was reduced to ashes when a fire broke out at a house in Maheshpur VDC of the district on Tuesday night.
According to police, the fire broke out in the house of Mahommad Husain yesterday midnight leaving his wife Sanija Khatun (25) injured.
Police suspect that cooking gas leakage might have caused the fire.
District Police Office, Rautahat said that the fire was later taken under control with the help of neighbours and security personnel.
Inspector Bijaya Raj Pandit said that though all the members of Husain came out of the house following the arson, Khatun was stuck inside the house. She was later rescued with the help of locals, Nepal Police personnel and Armed Police Force (APF) personnel.
Khatun is receiving medical treatment at the District Hospital, Gaur.
