Fire guts 200 quintals of sugarcane

RAUTAHAT: A fire that erupted in a sugarcane farm in Rautahat last night destroyed the crop spread through eight katthas of land.
According to police, nearly 200 quintals of sugarcane got destroyed in the fire incurring a loss of Rs 100,000(1,055$:1NPR=0.01056USD,06/12 rate).
The farm situated in Hardiya Paltuwa VDC belongs to one Ram Ekwal Ray Yadav. The reason behind the fire is still unknown, said DSP Bindeshwor Chaudhary.
In a different incident of fire, property worth Rs 50,000(527$:1NPR=0.01056USD,06/12 rate) was gutted from a grocery shop in Garuda-6, here. The shop owned by one Ram Gopal Chaurasiya caught fire at around midnight yesterday. The reason behind fire has been identified as electric short circuit.
Likewise, an incident of fire was also reported at the house of one Ramji Ray Yadav of Jigadiya-5. The fire that erupted at around 1 am gutted properties worth Rs 100,000(1,055$:1NPR=0.01056USD,06/12 rate). The fire had sparked from a mosquito coil, according to DSP Vim Dhakal.
