A 32-year-old man was killed while at least three people were injured in a fire that hit a residential area in Quezon City before dawn Monday.
The fatality was initially identified as Allan Dillones, a resident of Halcon Street in La Loma in Quezon City, according to a report by radio dzBB’s Rodil Vega.
However, those injured were not immediately identified.
An initial investigation showed the fire started at Halcon Street at 1:38 a.m. and reached the fourth alarm before it was placed under control at 2:50 a.m.
Some five houses were razed in the fire, with arson investigators estimating the damage to property at P1 million.
Arson investigators, however, are still looking into the cause of the fire.
Meanwhile, another fire hit a two-story apartment at Apolonio Samson area in Quezon City Sunday night, destroying some P3 million in property.
The fire started at 7 p.m. and hit the four-unit apartment owned by one Jojo Ortiz.
It reached the fifth alarm and was placed under control at 8 p.m. — RSJ, GMA
