Several families lost their homes in separate fires that hit Pasig City and Tondo in Manila between Saturday night and early Sunday.
In Manila, more than 100 families lost their homes after a fire hit a residential area in Moriones, Tondo, radio dzBB’s Mao dela Cruz reported.
No one was initially reported injured in the fire, which started at 1 a.m. and reached Task Force Bravo.
An initial investigation showed the fire started at a three-story house and may have stemmed from an electrical short circuit.
The affected families were brought to the local village hall and covered courts.
Traffic was heavy at the R-10 area, including the Del Pan Bridge due to the fire, the report said.
Meanwhile, a fire hit a residential area in Barangay Malinao in Pasig City shortly before midnight Saturday.
The fire started at 11:45 p.m. and reached the fourth alarm and hit houses made of light materials, dzBB’s Roland Bola reported.
Firefighters declared the fire out as of 1:44 a.m. — LBG, GMA News
