Fire hits electronics factory in Penang

GEORGE TOWN: Fire broke out at an electronics factory in Bayan Lepas near here at 6.35am Monday (Oct 16).
“A total of six firemen and one fire truck were dispatched and we arrived at the scene at 6.58am,” said a Fire and Rescue Department spokesman.
“It took approximately one hour and forty minutes to put the fire out.
“Thankfully, the fire did not spread inside the factory, but was at the right side of the building, beside the main road,” he said.
Policemen have cordoned off the area and ambulances are on standby.
No casualties or injuries were reported.
