40-door longhouse on fire in Sarawak

MIRI: A longhouse with about 300 people living in 40 adjoining homes is on fire in northern Sarawak.
Rumah Majang Ringkai was still ablaze as at 5.30pm Wednesday.
Firefighters from Miri city and Batu Niah town are rushing to the scene now, while the longhouse residents are scrambling to salvage their belongings while trying to douse the flames.
Miri Fire and Rescue Department chief Supt Law Poh Kiong said the blaze is at its height as the longhouse is made of wooden materials.
