Fire Leaves Three Families Homeless In Kota Bharu

KOTA BHARU, Nov 24 (Bernama) — Seventeen people from three families were left homeless after their houses were razed in a fire in Kampung Kuala Besar here today.
One of the victims, Nurul Faizeniy Afife Razali, 28, said the fire broke out at about 11 am when she, her 29-year-old husband Mohd Hafiz Daud, and their two children, aged six and eight, were preparing to go out for brunch.
“There was a smell of smoke before I heard an explosion. I rushed out of my room and was shocked to see the neighbours’ house were on fire. My husband and I quickly took the children out to safety,” she told reporters here today.
Meanwhile, Kota Bharu Fire and Rescue Station deputy superintendent Zaini Bidin said they received the distress call at 11.16 am before deploying two engines with 20 firefighters, including those from the Pengkalan Chepa station, to the scene.
“The fire was completely extinguished at 11.50 am. Four motorcycles were also destroyed in the incident,” she said, adding that investigation was underway to establish the cause of the fire and the losses incurred…..
