Fire guts property worth Rs 8mln in Bhaktapur

KATHMANDU: Property worth around Rs 8 million was destroyed in a fire that gutted a furniture store in Baniyatar of Tokha Municipality-8 in Bhaktapur district on Tuesday, said police.
According to police, the furniture store belonging to Raj Kumar Rawal (37) of Bhaktapur Municipality-5 caught fire after an electric short-circuit today.
The materials and equipment housed inside the shed-turned furniture store were burned to cinders, informed police.
Police with the help of APF, locals and fire engines doused the fire.
Meanwhile further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
