Fire hits hospital in Zamboanga del Sur

ZAMBOANGA City, Philippines – Fire struck a hospital following a mild explosion in Dinas town, Zamboanga del Sur early Thursday evening.
Chief Inspector Ariel Huesca, spokesman of Police Regional Office 9 (PRO), said patients were promptly evacuated from the Chavez Meidcal Center in Barangay Poblacion when the fire broke out at around 6:30 p.m.
Huesca said no one was hurt in the fire and the explosion.
He said the fire started when the hospital’s generator fuel overflowed.
The local fire bureau has yet to determine the cost of the fire’s damage to the hospital.
