Property worth around Rs 4 mln gutted in Ilam fire

ILAM: Property worth around Rs 4 million were burned to cinders in a fire in Deumai Municipality-6 of Ilam district on Monday.
The fire that started from an electric short-circuit caught on and gutted the two-storied house and a grocery shop operated in it belonging to the local Tilak Singh Suden at Phutuk yesterday, according to the Mangalbare-based Area Police Office (APO).
The house was unattended at the time of incident, informed APO.
Police with the help of locals doused the fire after an hour’s effort.
Meanwhile, further investigation into the case is underway, said police.
