Property worth around 1.55mln gutted in two Sankhuwashaba fire

BHOJPUR: Property worth around Rs 1,550,000 were gutted in two different fire incidents in Sankhuwashaba district on Wednesday.
According to police, a fire suddenly broke out in the house belonging to Sagun Bahadur Rai in Chichila Rural Municipality-2 at around 10:00 pm yesterday, burning the two-storey house and properties housed inside to cinders.
Properties worth around Rs 600,000 were destroyed in the fire that was brought under control with the collective effort of police and locals, informed the Chichila Based Police Post.
Similarly, property worth around Rs 650,000 were destroyed in the fire that gutted the house belonging to Santosh Limbu in Panchkhapan Municipality-1 of the district.
The fire that started accidentally while the children were playing with the fire at around 5:00 pm yesterday spread throughout the three-storey house, burning it down along with the properties housed inside, informed police.
According to the Barabise-based Police Post, the fire was doused with the help of police and locals.
Meanwhile, further investigations are undergoing into both the fire incidents, said police.
