Pre-dawn fire razes longhouse in Sarawak

MIRI: A pre-dawn fire destroyed a longhouse in the remote Limbang division in northern Sarawak.
At least 10 families are homeless after Rumah Katadam longhouse in Long Sebayang was razed to the ground in the 5am blaze.
Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department in its latest report said firemen from Limbang were deployed to the site after receiving an alert but the structure had already been destroyed when they arrived.
Fortunately, there were no fatalities or serious injuries despite the fire breaking out while occupants were asleep.
