Septuagenarian burnt to death in Lahad Datu

LAHAD DATU: A man in his 70s was burnt to death after fire razed his house on Jalan Dam Baru in the Hope Ley Light Industrial area here Saturday.
The charred remains of Tai Pang Sang, who reportedly lived alone, was found in the bedroom.
Sabah Fire and Rescue Department operations chief Khatizah Rahaban said firemen rushed to the scene after a distress call was received at about 2am.
Three fire trucks were despatched to the site, located some 3km away from the Lahad Datu Fire and Rescue Department.
“The makeshift house was completely gutted by the fire but the team managed to contain the flames from spreading to other areas,” she added.
