As many as 80 families lost their homes as two fires hit parts of Cavite province Wednesday evening and before dawn Thursday.
An initial report on dzBB radio said that 30 families lost their homes in a fire in Bacoor, Cavite Wednesday evening. A later report from GMA News TV’s “Saksi” said the number could go up to 80.
The “Saksi” report said the fire razed 50 houses and reached the second alarm, with firefighters needing three hours to put out the fire.
Most of the affected families spent Wednesday night at a nearby basketball court.
The fire at Barangay Longos started at 5 p.m., and was placed under control at 6:30 p.m., said the dzBB report.

Meanwhile, a report on dzBB early Thursday said another fire hit Cavite, this time at a flea market area in Barangay Pagasa in Imus, Cavite.
The report said the fire started at 12:30 a.m. and reached the fourth alarm before it was placed under control before 3 a.m.
