Updated: 2019–04–29
An 80-year-old woman was killed and six others were injured after a fire hit a condominium in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City on Monday.
According to a report by Nimfa Ravelo on Super Radyo dzBB, the body of Zenaida Uno was recovered from a balcony at the 21st floor.
The body was initially described as beyond recognition but a relative identified it as that of the 80-year-old.
The 18th to 23rd floors of the residential building were affected by the fire, which started at 11:56 a.m.
The fire reached general alarm and was declared under control as of 2:29 p.m.
The fire is suspected to have started in the condo’s garbage chute, where tenants throw away their trash.
In a separate interview in GMA’s Quick Response Team, Fire Superintendent Rober Pacis, Parañaque City fire marshal, said that the fire started on the 21st floor and spread to the floors below and above it.
An investigation is ongoing and tenants are prohibited to enter the building until further notice. —Dona Magsino/NB, GMA News
