Updated: 2019–04–23
The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Manila will temporarily transfer its operations to the BOC’s Gymnasium in South Harbor, Manila after a fire hit its building on Friday night.

The temporary transfer of the said office is to ensure that the services of the Port of Manila will not be stalled.
The Port of Manila will also talk with other nearby government offices, particularly the Philippine Ports Authority and Maritime Industry Authority, to temporarily use their facilities to continue the port’s operations.
The fire started at 9 p.m. at the third floor of the POM Building of the BOC on Friday.
It reached the fifth alarm before firefighters were able to put the fire under control past 4 a.m. on Saturday.
Firefighters declared fire out at 7:10 a.m., according to Super Radyo dzBB’s Manny Vargas.
On the other hand, Manila Bureau of Fire Protection Operations Chief Inspector Crusid Cante said they are still determining the amount of damage, as well as the cause of the fire.
Cante further said they have yet to receive information on those injured.
Super Radyo dzBB’s sources from the Port of Manila however disclosed that two Customs employees were slightly injured.
