Other fires

Meanwhile, fire incidents were also reported in Bacolod City, Occidental Mindoro, Romblon, and Kidapawan on Saturday.

Residents in Barangay Singcang-Airport in Bacolod City woke up before dawn with the fire spreading around them.

The Bureau of Fire Protection said the fire started in the house of the Lopezes.

Some residents said someone may have started the fire which quickly spread to other houses as these were made of light materials.

The BFP is still investigating the cause of the fire which lasted for 52 minutes.

Damage was estimated to cost at least P200,000.

No one was hurt in the fire.

In Barangay Poblacion, Calintaan, Occidental Mindoro, fire engulfed the house of Welvino Mariano on Saturday night.

The house was made of light materials, thus the fire quickly spread.

The fire lasted for almost two hours before it was put out.

A grass fire, meanwhile, sparked on a mountain in Barangay Calagonsao in Alcantara, Romblon on Friday.

The fire started before dawn in Sitio Magsupot and reached Sitio Ilaya before it was put out at 11 p.m.

No one was hurt in the fire.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire.

Meanwhile, four classrooms at the New Bohol Elementary School in Kidapawan City were razed by fire on Friday.

The fire quickly spread since there were a lot of papers in the classrooms.

The BFP said initial investigation showed electrical faulty wiring may have caused the fire.
