Fire razes 20 houses in Puerto Princesa City

CALAPAN City, Oriental Mindoro – At least 20 residential houses were burned down by a fire at Fundador Road, Brgy. San Miguel, Puerto Princesa in Palawan.
According to Police Lieutenant Colonel Socrates Faltado, chief of Regional Public Information of PNP-MIMAROPA, the fire started around 1:41 a.m. of Good Friday, April 19, and was reported to the Bureau of Fire Protection at around 2:05 a.m.
Faltado identified the severely injured victims as Merna B. Tesico, 49 years old; Kierstin Joy Angelique Tesico, 12 years old; Keila Joanne B Tesico, 8 years old; and Russel A. Beunque, 19 years old.
Initial investigation of the Bureau of Fire Protection revealed that the fire started at the house of Tesico family that spread to the neighboring houses in the village.
The four victims were rushed to Palawan Adventist Hospital for medical treatment.
The initial estimated cost of damage was around P500,000.
The Bureau of Fire Protection in Palawan is still conducting further investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
