House fire causes great damage in Cao Bằng

CAO BẰNG — A house and a warehouse of a household in the northern mountainous province of Cao Bằng caught fire yesterday morning.
At 9.30am, the fire was spotted on the second floor of Hoàng Thị Diệp’s house in Hòa An Commune.
The fire then spread through the whole three-storey house and the family’s construction material store.
Two fire trucks were sent to the spot. After 30 minutes, the fire was controlled with no major injuries recorded.
Initial property losses have been estimated to exceed VNĐ5 billion (US$215,000).
An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway. — VNS
