Fire in Derabassi forest area, no casualties reported

MOHALI: A part of the forest area near Dhanauni village in Derabassi was damaged in the fire on Saturday afternoon. After receiving information, a fire tender were rushed to the spot. It took fire officials over an hour to control the flames.
While the reason of the fire breaking out is yet to be established, an investigation has been initiated into the incident.
Meanwhile, fire officials have stated that it was not a major fire and such incidents were reported on routine basis as the weather has turned hot.
The fire broke out around 2 pm and a passerby spotted the flames after which he informed the fire department. On receiving the information, a fire tender was immediately rushed to spot.
According to fire officials, they received a call regarding the fire at about 2.11 pm and straight way a fire tender was sent from here. It took over an hour to control the fire, they added.
Manjeet Singh, fire officer said, “It was not major fire and they control it in hour. The fire incidents often took place and there is no need to worry about it.”
