Cebu City fire renders 70 families homeless 5 days before Christmas
Updated: 2019–12–21
Seventy families in Cebu City lost their homes to a fire that broke out in a neighborhood in Sitio Lourdes of Barangay Inayawan at past 4 p.m. on Friday, December 20.
Also, authorities said the fire reached the 3rd alarm and was placed under control by 5:20 p.m., and finally put out by past 8 p.m.
An initial investigation showed that the fire originated from the house of couple Joseph and Clarissa Bonghanoy, who were out of their home when the fire broke out from the second floor.
Fire officer Oliver Tautho suspected that a faulty electrical wiring sparked the fire, although a thorough investigation on the incident is still ongoing.
No one was reported killed in the fire, but a resident was hurt during the incident.
