Luxury bus catches fire in Thane, no casualty

MUMBAI: A Thane-bound luxury bus, which was coming from Gujarat, caught fire on Ghodbunder Road in the city at around 7am on Friday. No casualties were reported.
Kashimira police said that the bus had reached the toll naka on the road when a passenger noticed flames from the rear side. He informed the driver who immediately parked the vehicle and asked the passengers to alight.
The bus was up in flames but luckily all the passengers had alighted, said the police. The number of passengers on the bus is being ascertained.
The Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC) fire brigade personnel reached the spot and began containing the flames. The bus was badly charred.
The luggage of the passengers were lost in the fire.
