Kolkata: Clothes burnt as fire breaks out in stall

KOLKATA: A fire broke out at a stall in the G Block of New Market on Thursday. Around 11.45am, the stall owner selling hosiery products noticed the fire. He raised an alarm to draw the attention of other traders. They applied fire extinguishers to douse the flames before alerting the fire officials.
A New Market trader said the fire destroyed some hosiery garments in the stall.
Two fire tenders from Mirza Ghalib Street rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control around 12.45pm. Cops cordoned off the area for some time before normalcy was restored in the market.
