Fire at printing material factory
Updated: 2020–01–19
Ludhiana: A major fire broke out in a printing material manufacturing factory in Soodan Mohalla near Daresi on Saturday evening.
Flames erupted on the first floor of the factory and firemen had to struggle for over two hours to douse the fire. The exact reasons behind spreading of fire are yet to be ascertained. The firemen had initially controlled the fire, but wood lying on the first floor made things difficult for them with smoke engulfing the entire area.
Station fire officer SN Sharma said since the factory was situated in a narrow street, they had to park fire tenders away and had to use more than 300-feet pipe to douse the flames.
No one suffered any injury in the fire incident as factory staff had run out after noticing the fire.
