Fire destroys LPG store in Korat

NAKHON RATCHASIMA: A fire at a shop selling cylinders of cooking gas caused an estimated 2 million baht damage in Non Daeng district early on Monday, police said.
Pol Col Thanatsan Muang-in, the Non Daeng police chief, said the fire was reported about 1.30am at Ban Non Kwao in tambon Non Daeng.
The store was already engulfed in flames when seven fire engines arrived, but the crews managed to stop the blaze spreading to nearby houses.
The fire burned down the entire store and destroyed three six-wheeled trucks and a pick-up truck. About 500 gas cylinders were also destroyed, of which 280 were loaded on the trucks for delivery to clients on Monday morning. The others were in the store.
The damage was estimated at 2 million baht.
Kampol Kingkrodklang, 55, the store owner, said he was awoken by a loud noise from the gas store behind his house. When he went out to look he saw a fire burning at the rear of a six-wheeled truck. He immediately called police for help.
The cause of the fire was being investigated.
