Updated: 2020–04–28
A fire hit the Finance Center Philippine Army (FCPA) building located at the Army headquarters in Taguig City on Monday night, an official said Tuesday.
According to Army spokesman Colonel Ramon Zagala, the fire started at 8:45 p.m., at the GSMO office located inside FCPA building.
Zagala said fire out was declared at 10:03 p.m. No casualty was reported, he added.
“This is an unfortunate event for the Philippine Army, however, we are very thankful that no one got hurt from the incident. We deeply appreciate how other units and cities immediately responded in helping us to stop the fire before it caused further destruction to other Army properties,” Zagala said.
Zagala said an investigation is still ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
“The Philippine Army is currently conducting an investigation regarding the cause of the fire and hopes that we find answers as soon as possible,” he said. — Anna Felicia Bajo/RSJ, GMA News
