HYDERABAD: A fire broke out at a chemical storage godown at Medchal industrial area of Hyderabad on wee hours of Tuesday. In another incident, the second floor of a three-storey complex caught fire in Koti on Tuesday.
According to officials, around 250 barrels of solvents were kept stored in an open space in the industrial area, where sudden blasts occurred at around 3.30 am.
The cause of the fire is still unknown, some 200 barrels stored by Pavan Enterprises Limited, were gutted in the incident. We were managed to save 50 barrels,” said station fire officer Suresh Reddy. As many as five fire tenders and 26 firefighters were put in place.
According to officials, it took over five hours to completely douse the fire and clear the debris, while the property loss is estimated to be around Rs 15 to 20 lakh.
In another incident, a minor fire broke out on the second floor of Mithila Complex at Akbar Bagh Road of Koti at around 3.40 am.
According to officials, a short circuit triggered the fire at a garments storage room. One fire tender was put in place, said the officials.
