Fire breaks out in Hyderabad apartment building, no casualties

HYDERABAD: A fire broke out in on the second floor of a residential apartment following blasts in three gas cylinders in Domalguda area on Sunday morning.
Short circuit is suspected to have triggered the fire, said officials.
The fire control room was alerted at around 8.15am when the fire broke out at the five-storey apartment building at Gagan Mahal in Domalguda. A family of six was there in the flat where the fire started. Fortunately, there have been no casualties or injuries to any member of the family, said station fire officer, Venkateshwar.
By the time they woke up, the kitchen was already filled with smoke. The family immediately rushed out of the house and called for help.
Other people staying in the apartment also came out of their flats within minutes. By the time we reached, two cylinders kept inside a kitchen exploded, added the official.
Another cylinder exploded after the firefighters reached the spot. Two fire tenders and a mist bullet were pressed into service and it took over an hour for firefighters to douse the blaze.
