Fire breaks out in four saw mills, one door making unit in Nagpur’s Lakadganj area

Massive fire broke out in four saw mills and one door making unit in Lakadganj area on Thursday morning.
NAGPUR: Timber and property worth lakhs of rupees of five businessmen gutted in the massive fire that broke out in four saw mills and one door making unit in Lakadganj area on Thursday morning. One of the workers present there sustained minor burn injuries in the fire, said chief fire officer Rajendra Uchake.
At around 6am, the fire broke out in one of the saw mills situated in front of Lakadganj police station, which soon turned massive and engulfed three more adjoining saw mills and one door making unit.
On being informed, fire personnel from adjoining Lakadganj fire station reached the spot with two fire tenders. Soon, 11 more fire tenders from other fire stations like Kalamna, Sakkardara, Civil Lines were pressed and they took around three hours to control the fire. The reason of the fire is yet to be ascertained, said Uchake.
